Everyone knows the best time to wear a striped sweater is ALL THE TIME! normally the best is one with a collar, turtle neck, thats the kind.
just asked elder dewaal that and he knew the answer as well.
Thats cool about the nativity thing, ours had about 200 it was pretty sweet, more on that in a little.
glad you got to know the taste of some good ol fermented mustard.
on to questions:
If I sent you cash money, can you spend that in Canada?
sadly no, unless I am buying something that has come through the black market, which just reminded me of something that happened the week i got transfered out of Toronto.
Apparently this guy in Toronto, Feta (like the cheese), knows a guy where he can buy some legitimate jerseys (football, hockey, etc.) in bulk for super cheap. Feta in turn for super cheap sells these jerseys to people, so we as missionaries went there to buy some sweet jerseys. I did not have any canadian cash on me sadly! so i brought 10 american dollars that i got from nana and bumpa for my birthday, and he happily took it because his "supplier was in the states." with that i bought a Barcelona soccer team jersey, very happy about that. normally this would cost about 60$ elsewhere.
do you know the answer to When is the best time to wear a striped sweater?
When spongebob gives up frycooking for acting and singing.
Will you be allowed or able to listen to Kylie's song?
yes, i do not have headphones or my flashdrive with me right now but i will go and get it and upload it in a second.
Have you had your Christmas conference yet?
not yet, it is in 2 weeks from now, so all is well.
Have you received many of Sis. Hagen's letters? She told me today that she only puts on one stamp!! She said that is what Sis. Jensen does, and her mail gets there fine. The USPS people say you are supposed to put on $1.15!
yes i have received a bunch of them! i never really noticed the stamp thing, maybe its one of those cool super stamp things.
did you get HEAVEN's christmas card? Wasn't it great? Loved the pics of them all, but my favorite pic goes to Lizzy.
i have not gotten it! did they send it to my toronto address or cobourg address... or the mission office?
my official address is:
176 Sydenham Street #3
Cobourg, ON
K9A 2S3
Last chance to tell me of something you need/want for Christmas?
ummmmm sadly I really cant think of anything. a cool lady in the ward gave each of us a big bag of 25 other little bags of little dollar store things, and each day we are to open 1 thing. pretty cool. totally unrelated to the question but i wanted to say it so i did.
I saw a charge on your mastercharge for $50 to garmin. Did you have to pay for an upload for more maps? Tell about that.
yes, it only came with american maps for some silly reason and only had the big freeways and could only take me to America. dumb. so i had to get the map of everything.
what did you do for p-day last week, what are you doing today?
last week we didnt have much specifically to do so we went to sports in oshawa! sadly there was some accident or something on the freeway because there was tons of traffic and took 2 and a half hours to get there! normally takes about 45 minutes. we got there, got to play about 40 minutes, then had to leave again, kinda sad but it was still fun that little time. kinda funny that happened that week. really not sure what we are going to do today, probably not going to oshawa though. there is a little store thing right out of town called Primitive designs, and out front they have a massive Optimus Prime. it is bigger than the building. made from real car parts and stuff, it is amazing, so we will go and get some pictures of that today.
How were your exchanges last week?
good, i went to peterborough and drove! the missionary i was with there did not have his driver's license so i was the driver. it snowed a lot while i was there! driving in the snow is super fun, the car only slid a couple times unintentionally while i was turning. a lot of times on purpose though, all safe though.
How far away from your area were you?
like 40 minutes north.
How was your christmas thing at the ward building with all the nativities, etc. Talk about it!
pretty awesome, big sad confession though... i didnt bring my camera to take any pictures
.
the first part was in the chapel where they narrated some of the christmas story with singing in between everything, then afterwards they had the back gym doors open for people to go in and look through, then in the other room there were some dessert things.
Any thoughts on the cold?
not too cold yet, no problem. so last winter was apparently like the worst one in like 15 years and apparently most of the weather people are saying that this winter is going to be even worse! but then the other day we were talking to some first nation (what canada calls the native americans) people and they said it was supposed to be pretty mild, so i dont know. canada's main winter normally gets to the coldest in january and february apparently though.
Hope you could read through all my stories fast and you could "hear" me just talking to you. I don't know how it all got so long. It was a nice visit! Girls can kind of be chatty sometimes.
yes, and have feeling too dont forget that!
This weekend was very full and eventful for us this week. friday we had zone council (thats what its called now instead of zone training) up in peterborough and that night we had the nativity thing to be at. then on saturday we were literally gone all day until the nativity thing because we were in bancroft (2 hours north). Our whole zone was up there that day because we have some senior missionaries up there and they set up a float for a parade they were doing in the town and they got all us missionaries to go with the float and pass out candy and little pass along cards to eveyone. it was pretty sweet. they gave us little santa hats to wear also. the parade was only about a mile and a half long. not very cold at all, probably like 5Celsius. We passed out little He is the Gift cards, did you get those in your ensign?
We are actually showing the website on that card to a ton of people also. Mormon.org/christmas. it has a little 2 minute video called He is the Gift and it makes it super easy to share on facebook and twitter and stuff, really cool. everyone should share it!
alright thats about it!
I love you all!
Quinn
